A rustic-style 1,273-square-foot house billed as “Grandma’s Creekside Cottage” has sold for $2.108 million as home sales stay hot in the city. The 1876 William Hayes Perry residence is considered by many to be the first proper “mansion” built in Los Angeles. Perry was a self-made lumberman and a great friend of William Mulholland. The outside aesthetics have often been compared to a tiered wedding cake, and the rather dark interior features a fine marble fireplace and rich wood floors. Photos of the house at its original location show a mansion high on a hill, lined by magnificently landscaped trees. This multicolored, turreted, upper middle class house was originally built in 1887 at the base of Mount Washington by real estate developer George Morgan.

As leaders in metal fabrication, we can provide a diverse range of specialty metal products for unique applications. Metal bending is a process where sheet metal is deformed to achieve a predetermined form through different bending techniques. Force is applied to bend the sheet at an angle until it reaches an anticipated shape, usually “V” or “U.” The main tool used for this process is called a press brake, consisting of a punch and die. Several types of rolled roofing are used as supplements to other roofing materials.
Our customers are obsessed!
The rolled-edge wheel is the strongest design you can get before adding a beadlock or strengthening ring. While rolled roofing is cheap and easy to install, its resale value is perilously low when it is used as roofing on occupied structures. Rolled roofing is best installed on unoccupied structures, such as sheds, shops, garages, and other outbuildings. Before you dash down to the home improvement store and pick up a few rolls, you should be aware of the significant disadvantages that come along with the advantages of this product. Forming a bend that does not have a roll holding the inside corner, is called “air”, “blind”, or “ box” forming. When this occurs, forming the remaining angle from bend #2 helps to reduce distortion in the radius of bend #1.

Again, these examples are only a general rule of thumb for typical roll formed bends. Our in-house facility is equipped with innovative technology, ensuring your projects are completed precisely and consistently. We can guarantee that our metal bending and rolling services accomplish the outcomes you’ve been looking for. These structural steel products are also available in aluminum and high-performance alloys for sturdier and more durable results that last.

Most rolling machines employ two rollers where the workpiece is fed through two rollers. Afterward, the workpiece will come out on the other side with a curve. The operator will reverse the rollers and run the sheet metal back on the opposite side to enhance its curves until the desired angle or bend is reached. Rolled roofing (or roll roofing)—also known as MSR—comes in rolls of 100 square feet. Rolled roofing is easy to obtain and can be found at all home improvement stores. One MSR roofing roll is usually about 36 feet long by 36 inches wide.

The Elkas are so tunable that no matter what kind of surface you are racing on, the shocks can adapt. The album introduced his use of the Talk Box which allowed him blend his voice and guitar through a plastic tube and create entirely new sounds. Other artists like Stevie Wonder and Joe Walsh had done something similar, but Frampton worked to create his own unique style and signature sound. The developer, Heliogram Labs, indicated that the app’s privacy practices may include handling of data as described below. It doesn’t add furniture, it doesn’t do anything in interior design but adjust colors on your current picture. As it stands now, the realignment would bring 12 lanes of traffic across the turnpike and Soldiers Field Road down to ground level.

The find cost Vera around $7500, which is a far cry from what it cost to build machines like this in the 1990s. Racers paid a minimum of $25,000 to have a Roll Design Lobo ready to race. Avina built some of the last Lobos that had success in Baja, so he was a good go-to.
DESIGN AND CUSTOM FABRICATION
The speed at which these idled rolls spin is dictated by the section (at or near the highest point of the leg) rather than the mills’ drive. Generally this method is necessary when the formed legs of the profile are greater than 70-degrees. Other solutions to overfeeding can be idling key spindles on the mill or idling key forming rolls, clearance angles on rolls that appear to be driving too hard or reducing roll diameters in a previous pass. However, I would still hold the return leg as shown above, after contact with the inside corner is no longer possible.
Time to Roll Profits!
Inside the bottom end, a new Yukon HD countershaft gear set was needed at $599. A complete Hinson clutch kit finished off the lower end ($450) of this Lobo 250R. To get the power to the rear wheels, a brand-new RK O-ring chain was added to the 15/38T front and rear sprockets. 7.0 ROLL DESIGN TIPS When forming a bend that has a 1t or less inside radius and when “box” forming, a “coining” or “bead” pass is very effective in setting the corner.
This will prevent bend #1 from lifting while minimizing bend # 2 distortion. This paper is intended to provide “basic” Roll Forming Tooling design instruction and tips for the beginning or novice designer. In my experience, the ideas expressed in this report can be applied to many situations, but I will stop short of claiming that these are the only solutions.
This ten-pass example should be okay if running non-notched, post-cut mild steel. If the section is either notched, pre-cut or high strength material, more passes will be necessary to achieve desired results. Additional passes allow the material to flow through the mill with less strain.

Analyzing successful strategies and designs used in older distributed systems for later use is also known as pattern sharing. So, in a way, you can understand the heart of modern distributed systems by studying the strengths and limitations of older systems. Advanced System Design interviews questions and answers require a deep understanding of distributed systems, particularly their history and evolution. The greater complexity of these systems meant we needed highly scalable and reliable architectures and, consequently, people who could design them. Now, System Design is a cornerstone of modern software development.
How to approach a typical LLD interview?
Whereas LLD gives insights into how well a candidate can model the software. There are several algorithms for performing a topological sort, but one of the most common is the depth-first search (DFS) based algorithm. This repo is an organized collection of resources to help you learn low level design of systesm's. If the entire car is a distributed system, then the engine’s design would be considered a low-level process within that system. The style of design interview you will receive depends on a number of factors. Now that we’ve covered the key differences, let’s look at how you can determine the style of design interview you should expect.
Low-Level OOD
Component-level design is the process of designing the individual components of a software system in detail. It involves defining the structure and behavior of each component, as well as specifying the interfaces between components and any interactions or dependencies between them. The goal of component-level design is to create components that are well-designed, reusable, and easy to maintain. By incorporating these best practices and tips into the low-level design process, developers can navigate the complexities of software architecture more effectively.

Call API “ValidateRole()” to check if a role exists in the database. Various other factors like the API URL, input parameter, response, security feature, and the expected response time for the API call should all be stated for the benefit of the developers. Going through these links and understanding them alone should get you interview-ready. Moreover, you can come up with problems and try applying the design principles while solving them.

Key deliverables of low-level design include detailed component diagrams (e.g., class diagrams, sequence diagrams), data flow diagrams, database schema, and user interface designs. Here, the focus is on the implementation details of a specific module or component within a more extensive system. More specifically, it’s focused on the details of individual classes and objects within that software system and their relationships, methods, and properties. Your interviewers are going to determine how well you can design an efficient implementation that satisfies all of the functional requirements.
During the detailed phase the logical and functional design is done and the design of application structure is developed during the high-level design phase. Each category represents a set of design patterns meant to solve a specific type of object-oriented design problem. By using these patterns, developers can significantly improve their software’s coherence, modularity, and maintainability.
SOLID principles
We read every piece of feedback, and take your input very seriously. To review, here are some major differences between the interviews to remember. Each pattern describes a problem that occurs over and over multiple times in the environment, and their solutions can be applied repeatedly without redundancy.

By carefully selecting and optimizing data structures, developers can create systems that are efficient, easy to use, and able to meet the needs of their users. In low-level designing, developers focus on the specifics of each module or component, considering factors like data storage, data flow, error handling, and performance optimization. The goal is to create a detailed blueprint that developers can use to write the actual code for the system. In this topic, we will concentrate on the brains of the problem solution.
The first thread will perform an database update and the second thread you manage notification. Thus, we have achieved parallelism and have used resources efficiently. Apart from the Sequence diagram, you can draw the Activity diagram as well.

If time permits, the code is executed and a few scenarios are tested. The questions would range from “Design a Snake and Ladder Game” to “Design a Social Network like LinkedIn”. The duration of the interview lies somewhere between 60 to 90 mins. I have seen many candidates getting confused between High-level Design and Low-level Design rounds. Once I asked a candidate about an LLD problem, and they started attacking it as an HLD problem. It’s important to know the distinction and communicate during the interview.
The next step is the identify the relationship between the entities. In this article, I’ll share the necessity of the LLD round and its importance. I’ll also cover the necessary skills, strategies, and resources to crack the LLD interviews. Low-level Design rounds have become an integral part of the Tech hiring process. Few companies call it the Pair Programming round or Machine Coding round. Most of the companies ask open-ended questions like “Design a Vending Machine” in this round.
In this section, we delve into case studies to dissect how these principles are applied in actual software development scenarios. By examining concrete examples, we aim to provide insights into the decision-making processes and considerations involved in low-level design. D) This article seeks to unravel the mysteries of low-level design, providing an in-depth exploration of its principles, components, and the impact it has on the overall success of software projects. By understanding the nuances of low-level design, developers can elevate their coding practices, contributing to the creation of systems that not only meet immediate needs but also stand the test of time. When I first started interviewing for software engineer positions, Low-Level OOD interviews were the only type of design interview you’d find yourself in. System Design and scalable systems weren’t as integral as they are today because large-scale distributed systems were relatively uncommon.

They’re good, but you might as well just order shrimp siu mai—unless you’re obsessed with scallops. Like a lot of restaurants in tourist areas, Palette Tea House has a theme, but it doesn’t involve eating around props from B movies or dealing with servers dressed as pirates. Instead, everything you order here comes out looking like Bob Ross quit painting and decided to open a restaurant. It makes the entire experience more fun, but even if we ate here blindfolded, the food would still be fantastic. Add an order of the steamed silken egg topped with the stuff for a dish that's luxurious in flavor while light in texture. Santa Monica isn’t exactly known for its upscale afternoon tea offerings, but this design-forward hotel is changing that with a modern afternoon tea service inside Palma, the Proper’s lobby restaurant. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the impossibly chic space features unique floral arrangements and plenty of seating arrangements to choose from. While the tables that border the elongated booth by the window catch the most light, larger parties can opt for the secluded alcoves or one of the lower-slung coffee tables.

These are some of the best xiao long bao we’ve had in San Francisco. The wrappers are more reliable than run-flat tires, and the dumplings are always rich and full of pork. These soup dumplings come with five different flavors, so everyone at your table should order their own to get the full experience, but it’s worth it. They’re all fantastic, especially the rich yellow ones with crab roe and turmeric.

This buzzy dim sum restaurant may call the heart of Ghirardelli Square home, but it is hardly a spot just for tourists. Pork and duck puffs crafted into cute little black swans are Instagram-ready; and may be tailed by durian bao, tender squid ink dumplings with crunchy jicama and pork, or slippery rice crêpes filled with crispy soft-shell crab. The wait can be considerable—I waited three months, in fact—but the chance to enjoy this museum afternoon tea offering is well worth the need for advance booking. Available Thursdays and Saturdays, 1 to 3pm, the intimate service comes with views of the (mock) Herculaneum villa and amphitheater from the Founder’s Room, located just above the museum café. Pick from an array of high-quality teas, including the Villa’s Art of Tea signature blend, which adds a touch of lavender to Chinese black tea. Compared to the Getty Center’s admittedly lackluster afternoon tea offering, the Villa’s selection of vegetarian-friendly scones, sweets and sandwiches is delicious, and far better than it needs to be.
Each service includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot or a non-alcoholic sparkling wine, plus scones, sandwiches and a rotating array of sweets that put a California spin on classic flavors. (In particular, we found the aged goat cheese and chive scone to be outstanding.) For $20 more, guests can also indulge in bottomless champagne. For a kitschy, distinctly English afternoon tea, this beloved Pasadena establishment offers two reservation-only seatings on weekend afternoons at 1 and 4pm. Each tea service includes a glass of sparkling elderflower cordial, a pot of house blend tea and a three-course set that includes Rose Tree’s famously delicious scones—and the entire service is overseen by a butler in full traditional uniform. Given the overall Britishness of the place, expect savory bites like beef Wellington, toad-in-the-hole and Welsh rarebit alongside sweets like sticky toffee pudding. Note that Rose Tree Cottage requires a proper dress code and only takes afternoon tea reservations a week in advance—and strictly over the phone.

Aside from dim sum, Palette Tea House has larger plates like tender roasted Iberico pork cha siu and Dungeness crab covered in garlic butter. They’re not as clever looking as the lobster ha gow with pipettes of butter to inject into each dumpling, but they’re great to split and will make you thankful no one sucked you into getting mediocre seafood or bread bowls nearby. There are still a few reminders that you’re in tourist country, like the occasional diner with a map sticking out of their bag, but you won’t care.
Throwing wagyu beef into a dish is usually done to be flashy, but here the rich, tender slivers of beef make a large difference in these great stir-fried rice noodles. When you move to San Francisco, you quickly learn that Ghirardelli Square is a landmark, like the cable car turntable in Union Square or the Tonga Room, but it’s not real San Francisco. You’re only supposed to come to this former chocolate factory with visiting relatives so they can get free chocolates, and then inevitably drag you to Fisherman’s Wharf. When you’re not playing tour guide, though, you can go to Palette Tea House. This dim sum restaurant from the Dragon Beaux people is in the center of the city’s own chocolate tourist fortress, and we like it so much that we’ll come here even on our own time. Palette's cocktail program was designed by Carlos Yturria (The Treasury, Whitecap), and the outdoor bar is a great spot for an afternoon drink.

You have to order the black swan puffs just to get a snap for your feed, but this delightful take on the classic deep fried taro puff, updated with charcoal, is a flight of fancy for your tastebuds, too. Reserve the restaurant's new private room, semi-enclosed by a floor-to-ceiling glass wall of wine, for more intimate family parties. Palette has an entire section of its menu devoted to grilled and skewered items, like tiger prawns (pictured), smoked pork belly, and wagyu steak. The mighty, steamed Kurobuta truffle XLB is twice the size of any regular dumpling and made with premium pork with a hint of truffle. Only one big piece of scallop comes on top of this siu mai, and the rest of the filling is shrimp.
Chicken and Parsley Bao

The lobster ha gow are busting at the wanton-wrapper seams with plump crustacean meat.
Palette Tea Garden receives fresh caught, live seafood daily from our many vendors. Ranging from Dungeness Crab, Maine Lobster, Spot Prawns, and even more choices depending on season. Rice crepes are available with your choice of several fillings including prawns, soft shell crab, and raw wagyu with finely chopped black truffle mushrooms (pictured). In other words, the stage is set for big groups ready to dig into towers of bamboo baskets all overflowing with wontons and the like.

You’ve found a spot in Ghirardelli Square that’s as much for you as your visiting family. But when they force you to go to the wharf after, you’re on your own. You’ll be attracted to the colorful xiao long bao like Danny Ocean to a heist, and will want more after you try the rich soup and pork filling. The only blatant connection to the theme is the plates shaped like actual paint palettes. They have useful dents to hold the chili oil, Chinese mustard, and other sauces you’ll dip each dumpling into as if you were frantically creating a masterpiece.
This cha siu of tender pork chunks is glazed with a slightly sweet barbecue sauce for a beyond-rich flavor. Try and suss out the nutty flavors that come from from the acorn-based diet of these specific Spanish pigs. While the tea service technically requires reservations, the Founder’s Room does accept walk-ins whenever there are cancellations—so if you’re already visiting the reservation-only Villa on a Thursday or Saturday, you can always try asking the host stand upstairs.

The coolest thing about this is the pipette of butter they bring you to inject into each individual dumpling. The lobster in these is tender and they’re the only lobster dumplings we’ve had worth ordering. In a grid layout where multiple cells are aligned next to each other, sharp corners can make the interface feel rigid and monotonous. The softening effect of rounded corners, on the other hand, adds a layer of sophistication and helps each cell stand out. This trend, inspired by a millennium-old Japanese tradition, proves that inspiration can emerge from the most unexpected places.

Points to Keep in Mind When Using Bento UI
While a reusable bento box isn't typically made to retain heat, using it with a PackIt insulated tote can make a significant difference. Even when not frozen, PackIt's totes provide insulation that helps maintain a warmer temperature for your food. The design of our customizable bento box, combined with the insulating properties of a PackIt tote, offers a practical solution for keeping meals fresh when you are dining on the go. I recently came across Diagram’s website, and let me tell you, it’s nothing short of magical.
First of all, I calculated the content count and designed a suitable grid system accordingly. The things I paid most attention to while making wireframes were gaps and hierarchy. It is important in this design style that the gaps between all boxes, bottom, top, right and left, are the same. Since I had content to highlight, I created a grid structure accordingly.
While our reusable bento box on its own does not preserve cold temperatures, pairing it with PackIt's innovative foldable freezable totes ensures your food stays chilled. Our EcoFreeze® technology is designed to keep temperatures low for hours. When you're trying to figure out what is a bento box, you'll soon realize that there is not just one bento box design. Bento boxes come in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs, so you can easily find one that fits your needs.
The convenience of trying so many different foods, as well as the visual appeal of an array of colorful ingredients, conjures up a feeling of simple pleasure and artistic expression. Whether it’s a jewelry box of sliced fish or a compact tin of grilled meats, vegetables, and rice, a bento makes for a wonderful meal for any occasion. Its size, and snap-shut lid make it ideal for tucking into kids’ backpacks, while the five compartments are perfect for Japanese-style bento and beyond. Senior Commerce Writer Jennifer Zyman loves how leak-proof these bento boxes are. Plus, it comes in five bright colors that kids will be excited to pull out in the cafeteria. About a thousand years ago, farmers and merchants conceptualized the bento box as a practical solution for transporting their meals.
The appeal lies in the simplicity and efficiency of content organization, though its suitability varies across projects. While ideal for simpler hierarchies, complex content organization may benefit from alternative solutions. To harness Bento UI’s benefits, consider aligning project structures with its strengths.
Many users are already accustomed to navigating bento-style interfaces due to this wide adoption, leading to improved usability and user experience. I’ve conducted multiple experiments using UX research tools, and they all confirmed that users find bento box style websites intuitive and easy to interact with. The custom of the bean baked into a cake survived — but in the 1960s a local, now-defunct, bakery chain began inserting tiny baby figurines, made of china, into their cakes. “A lot of people started to get their king cakes there because it was more fun than getting a bean,” said Williams. “People will pick up a king cake and take it to work, and whoever gets the baby has to bring one the next day, so people are eating it all the time,” food historian Liz Williams said in a recent interview. “Throw” is a noun in New Orleans used to describe prizes that float riders in parades and members of walking krewes give to spectators. It’s been my experience on the breakaway class ships that only the Manhattan room on the Epic requires men to wear pants. I know technically the Epic is not a breakaway class ship but have the rules changed on the others. Normally each ship has two restaurants with the pant dress code, those being Le Bistro and Ocean Blue. On the big-ship end of the spectrum, Norwegian's four relatively new Breakaway Plus-class vessels — Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Escape — are the line's premier offerings. Jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops are not permitted in these restaurants. For evenings, the recommended onboard dress is elegant casual for most ship venues. Suggested attire for men includes trousers and collared shirts (ties and jackets are optional but not required).

Most cruises also include one or more theme nights (like Pirate Night). On these evenings, passengers can either wear elegant casual attire or opt for a more formal look, such as gowns, cocktail dresses, dark suits or tuxedos. Oceania's dress code is simple and casual, which may come as a welcome surprise to those who know the line as a luxury option.
